January 5, Sunday, 10:30am - 4:30pm
Arrive with an idea, emotion or notion. Explore how artists are re-purposing traditional handwork techniques and materials into the contemporary art scene. Study samples of 2 and 3 dimensional artworks made from buttons and old lace. Then think again. Do you have stories you are eager to tell, political or social comments that need to be expressed, or just hands that need to make things. Join Bergstedt in stirring the pot. Learn how to button up, crochet, stitch, or wire your ideas together into a provoking work of art.
A list of provided materials, as well as more suggestions if you wish to work with specific colors or materials, will be sent to you before the workshop day. Please bring a notebook.
